1. Sponsorship
1.1 Anyone interested in Sponsoring any of the following Competition or their prizes or simply a small part of
their prizes, or anyone interested in launching a completely new Competition, please contact our Fishing Secretary at
rcrauscher@yahoo.com or our Rear Commodore Power at 0754 380942.
1.2 The Sponsor will be allowed to put up banners and or promotional, advertising material at DYC for a specified
period:
Latham Open Fishing Competition = for 3 weeks before the event.
Other DYC Organized Events = for 1 week before the event.
For small contributions and small sponsorship = for 3 days before the event at Lured Inn.
1.3 For the whole period of the event, the Sponsor/Sponsors, will maintain at DYC Fishing Section Lured Inn and
at DYC, in the Fishing Section Notice Board, a branded Poster with the rules of the
Sponsored Event. On the Poster there will be the list of the Entries, and competition results and pictures of the event.
1.4 Prior to the event, a Newsletter will be sent to all DYC Members via e-mail. On the Newsletter, the program of the
Event, Rules and Sponsors' brand will be announced.
1.5 The Event, with Program, Sponsor's Brand and Rules will be announced as well on DYC Fishing Section web site, Kaskazi magazine,
DYC Fishing Section Face Book page.
1.6 During the Event, at Prize giving the results will be announced in front to DYC spectators and the Sponsor will be
thanked by our Commodore or Fishing Secretary Representative.
1.6 A Report of the Event with the Event's Results and the brand/name of the Sponsor/s will be published in the next DYC
Magazine "The Kaskazi", which is distributed to all DYC Members and extra copies of this Magazine will be available to
anyone at DYC Office and DYC Main Bar (until next Kaskazi is issued).
1.7 A Report of the Event with the Event's Results and the brand/name of the Sponsor/s will be published as well on DYC
Web site, Fishing Section Web Site, Fishing Section Face Book Page, Fishing section Notice board.
1.8 The sponsor will be able to use the photo gallery in its promotional material, publications, publicity campaigns, etc.
Long Term Competitions (i.e. Monthly Mugs, Annual League, Biggest Fish of the Year )
1.9 Apart from the above mentioned terms, an opening night will be organized at DYC announcing the event and presenting
the Sponsor to all our Club Members.
1.10 A closing night will be organized at DYC at the end of the year or at the end of the Competition' Dates announcing
the end of the event and handing over the prizes to the various winners.
1.11 In the case of Monthly Mug Competition : Every two months, Fishing Section will organize a special evening, where
prizes will be handed to the previous two months winners .
1.12 If interested, for the duration of the Event, the Sponsor/Sponsors, can maintain at DYC Fishing Section Lured Inn and at
DYC a dedicated Fishing Notice Board (to be sponsored by the sponsor) with a branded Poster with the rules of the Sponsored
Event. Each New entry will be posted on this board and every month it will be updated with the rolling record of
entries and competition results and a photo gallery.

2. Sponsorship Opportunities
2.1 For the Year 2011, Fishing Section is looking at running the following events, each one of these events are in need
of Sponsorship or Co-Sponsorship with DYC or with other Sponsors. Anyone interested in Sponsoring any of the following
Events or their prizes or simply a small part of their prizes, or anyone interested in launching a completely new
Competition, please contact our fishing Secretary at rcrauscher@yahoo.com or our Rear Commodore Power at 0754 380942.
Following is the list and schedule of the Events that DYC Fishing Section would like to hold for the year 2011 :
2.2 Fishing Competition - One Every Month. Usually run on Saturday and on Sunday.
Usual prizes of each Competition are: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Angler.
1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Boat
1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Junior
1st Lady
Biggest Fish: Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo (or Kingfish), Dorado, Giant Trevally
Fishing Section is looking at: Sponsored Prizes and or gadgets and/or Sponsored Drinks and/or Sponsored Food.
2.3 Junior Bottom Bait Fishing - One Every two Months.
Participants will be: Juniors Male and Female (anyone of
10 years old and over, until 16 years of age + 364 days) - Smallfries Male and Female (Anyone under 10 years of age).

Prizes per each Fishing Competition are:
1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Junior Male
1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Junior Female
1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Small Fry Male
1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Small Fry Female
Biggest Fish.
Fishing Section is looking at: Sponsored Prizes and or gadgets and/or Sponsored Drinks and/or Sponsored Food and or sponsored
fuel and or sponsored boat or boats to take out at sea the kids.
2.4 Video Night - One every Month. At Lured Inn.
During the Event (at Lured Inn) the Bar will be open, all DYC Members will be invited, and there will be grilled food
available.
Fishing Section is looking at: DVDs or Copies of mainly Salt Water Fishing Programs, or Videos, both about simple
fishing shows and/or educational videos. Sponsored Drinks and/or Sponsored Food.
Video Projector, Screen, Possibly sound system, DSTV Decoder to record Fishing Programs.
2.5 "Casting Night" - One every month. At Lured Inn, during High Tide.
Open to all DYC Members, but mainly addressed to Juniors, Smallfies and Families.
According to the availability of DYC Opi Representative, the event might be connected as well to a Opi/fishing competition
in the bay, which will occur during the afternoon. At the end of the Opi/Fishing Competition, Families and Juniors will
get together at Lured Inn. The Bar will be Open, possibly some music, grilled food available, Bonfire for marshmallows.
During the night, kids and adults will be casting from the Lured Inn, taught and assisted on rigging, bait fishing.
Possibly some fishing games will be organized as well.
Fishing Section is looking at: Sponsored Drinks and/or Sponsored Food and/or Sponsored Sweets/candies/marshmallows/etc..
and/or prizes and/or fishing tackle for the purpose, such as casting rods, line, hooks and/or any other Sponsored Items in
theme with the event, and or bait for chumming in the water and or spot lights to shine in the water and attract fish,
possibly a sound system.
2.6 Monthly Mug Prize Giving - Every two months. At Lured Inn.
Anglers Participation : every week-end and every Public Holiday.

2.9 Biggest Fish of the Year - The whole Year 2011.
Anglers Participation : Any day of the year 2011 is valid.

Fishing Section is looking at: Sponsored Prizes and/or Sponsored Trophies and/or Sponsored Tackle as Prizes and/or
Sponsored Certificates and/or Sponsored Drinks and/or Sponsored Food to be offered during the Prize Giving.
2.10 Club Records Every Year the whole year long.
DYC keeps a Record Board of all the Record Achieved at DYC during the running Year and previous years.
Fishing Section is looking at: A New Branded Sponsored Board for Junior's Records and/or A New Branded Sponsored Board for
General Records and/or Sponsored Trophies and/or Sponsored Tackle as Prizes and/or Sponsored Certificates and/or Sponsored Engraved Labels per each Record achieved.
2.11 Fishing Boat for Training and Lessons.
DYC has a small amount budgeted for the purpose of purchasing a Fishing Boat.
The aim is to use the boat for Junior's Fishing
Competitions, to be hired to Fishermen who do not have a boat and for Fishing Lessons.
Unfortunately the budget available is too low in order to purchase a boat ideal for the purpose.
Fishing Section is looking at : anyone willing to top up the budget at disposition and co/sponsor the boat with DYC and/or simply sponsor a hull
and/or simply sponsor the engines and/or sponsor the fuel and/or sponsor the steering system and/or sponsor the
electronics and/or part or all of the needed tackle.
2.12 Fishing/Rigging Lessons Initially twice a month, if possible and if more demand, we could do it more frequently.
Fishing Section is looking at organizing fishing lessons. These will be inclusive of Rigging and theoretical Lessons on land
and practical lessons at sea.
Fishing Section is looking at : anyone willing to dedicate their time for the purpose or anyone willing to offer their
personal Deck hand just for the duration of the lessons and/or anyone willing to sponsor a dedicated person to take over
this duty, and/or his/her accommodation and/or his/her drinks and/or his/her food and/or the necessary needed for the
purpose such as baits, line, hooks, swivels, etc..
During the Lessons, Drinks and food could be offered, therefore even Sponsored Drinks and Sponsored Food could be a possibility.
2.13 Latham Open Fishing Competitions 3 Days Every year
It is the biggest Fishing Competition in Tanzania since 1980 and it has been Sponsored by the Biggest Tanzanian Firms.
It is a Tuna/Billfish Fishing Competition and it usually occurs over the month of September or October, when the Tuna
Fishing Season is at its best in the area of Latham Island.

It is a very big competition which needs lots of logistics
since the whole club moves to Sinda Island for the event, in order to be closer to the fishing ground.
Fishing Section is looking at:
A. Prizes of any kind, such as tackle, lures, rods, reels, trophies, etc.. (see
possible list
below at paragraph 10.16)
B. Sponsored Branded Shirts for fishermen and crew and or branded hats for fishermen and crew and/or for spectators.
C. Sponsored Branded T-shirts for staff and/or for Spectators.
D. Sponsored Logistics (lights, bulbs, generators, ropes, canvas sheet, bush poles, plastic sheets, 1000 ltr Simtank,
Fresh Water, etc..) and/or their installation.
E. Ferry Boat to load all items needed and bring them to Sinda Island.
F. Gazebos and/or umbrellas or other mean of shade.
G. Portable toilets with Cleaners.
H.Spectators' Boat to bring Spectators to Sinda Island.
I. Sponsored Catering offered on Thursday during Briefing and Auction night or at Sinda during the Event either to
Participants only or to everyone.
J. Sponsored Drinks, offered on Thursday during Briefing and Auction night or at Sinda during the Event either to Participants only or to everyone.
K. Sponsored Boat for set teams (this could be a Junior Team, or a Ladies Team, etc..)
L. Sponsored Fuel. This could be for the use of DYC boats only, and/or for a Sponsored Boat's Team and/or a part of the fuel
for participants, etc..
M. Chairs and/or tables and/or table cloths to be used at Sinda Island.
N. Plates and/or knives/fork/spoons and/or cups and/or cutlery in general.
O. Security Services, such as guards and/or paramedics and/or fire extinguishers.
P. Video and/or Photo Services, such as a Filming (and/or photographers) Crew to take videos of the event and possibly
air it through a Sport Channel.
Q. Press Coverage, such as an Article to be published over an International (Fishing) Magazine.
R. Sponsored gadgets and/or other prizes for the raffle which will occur at Sinda before prize giving.
S. Marine Park Fees for Participants and Crew.
T. A team of workers at DYC during preparation and/or during loading and offloading the Landing Craft and/or at Sinda Island.
U. Cash in general for covering various logistics related to this Competition.
V. 50 kg Ice Blocks and/or cool boxes where to keep the Fishing Ice and/or Drinking Ice and/or Freezer/Freezers where to keep the
drinking Ice and/or other perishables.
2.14 New Fishing Competitions
Fishing Section would like to launch New Fishing Competition Formats.
Fishing Section is looking at : Lodges or Beach Hotels or Lodges located on Rivers and/or lakes to sponsor a Competition/Event
at their location, possibly offering accommodation or a special price to the Participants and/or facilities such as food
and or drinks, etc.
2.15 Cold Room
It is located at the Lured Inn and it is used every week each time fishermen come back with a catch.
It can be fully branded but in exchange we would like that the Company will take care of its maintenance.
As of now the Cold Room needs a new compressor in order to be properly running
2.16 Prizes Examples

Fishing Tackle (Rods, reel, lures, line, swivels, hooks, gaffes, fighting belts, etc..)
