Lured Inn Fishing Section Area Lured Inn

In the old days, the Fishing Section of the Dar es Salaam Yacht Club had no area allocated and the only area where the fishermen could weigh their catches and gather together, was the ramp, but this was creating some problems since the ramp was often busy especially during week-ends.
Unfortunately the budget for each section was very limited, therefore a group of enthusiastic fishermen decided to invest their personal money, time and manpower, in order to create an area for their section and where they could gather together after a fun day out.
The works started in the early nineties. They started excavating into the cliff near the ramp which at that time was a coral cliff with no use and slowly slowly they created that area which is now known as THE LURED INN.

Fish BBQ Every Sunday Night

Pizza Night Occasional Fish BBQ & Pizza

With their personal money, time and manpower, the Fishermen of the Dar es Salaam Yacht Club, built the bar, the grill and the pizza oven and after every day out fishing, week-ends or Holidays, the charcoal was lit up and the catch of the day was put up on the grill for the enjoyment of the fishermen, families and friends.
Slowly slowly, this become a very popular happening, with more and more people coming along to enjoy the freshest grilled fish in Dar es Salaam or the nicest Pizza, until the Fishing Section decided to invite to this popular gathering all the members of DYC.

Please Note Fish BBQ & Pizza Children

Serving: Please Note that the Fish BBQ Night is not a Bouffet and you are allowed to serve only once.
If you would like to serve more, another chit should be signed and consigned to the Fish BBQ attendants.

Please do note serve yourself from the Grill; Let the Fish BBQ attendants serve you the Grilled Fish.

Tables: Although during Fish BBQ nights or Pizza Nights, every one is welcome, please remember that the Lured Inn is the area for the Fishing Section and fishermen might come in with their catches, at any given time, therefore you are invited not to move the tables around since you might block the areas needed for the Fishing Section activities, such as the access to the gantry, the access to the Fishing Section Store, fish trolley and Cold Room.
If you need to move your tables, we kindly invite you to ask to the BBQ attendants.

Gantry Area Although during Fish BBQ nights, Pizza Nights or Any other event, every one is welcome, please remember that the Lured Inn is the area for the Fishing Section and fishermen might come in with their catches, at any given time.
Usually fishermen carry in their bags extremely expensive and delicate equipments such as electronics as well as extremely expensive and harmful fishing tackle, therefore children should not go in the area around the gantry and especially they should not be left running around unattended.

Many people attend these evenings as well to enjoy a quiet evening along the seafront, therefore your respect for others is highly appreciated and children should not be left around as if they were in a playground, but parents should control their behavior and their noise levels as if they were in a normal and respectable Restaurant.

Events at the Lured Inn Private Party Events

If for any reason you would like to organize a party or an event at the Lured Inn, you should follow the proper procedures and send a request to the Fishing Secretary and to the Rear Commodore Power.
Please remember that even if your request will be accepted, fishermen might come in at any given time and they might need to use the Lured Inn Facilities, therefore the gantry area and the access to the Fishing Section Store, fish trolley and Cold Room should be left free for the Fishing Section use.

Cold Room

Cold Room Use Cold Room

The cold room is for storage of fish, baits and ice for the use of members going out fishing. For any other use please make a request to the Fishing Secretary.
Please remember that even if your request will be accepted, fishermen might come in at any given time and they might need to use the Cold Room Facilities.
